OBITUARY.

Departed this life on the 20th day of May, 1891, in the 50th year of her age Mrs. Eliza J. Hemphill after a long and severe illness. Her disease was lung trouble, and for the last few months her sufferings were great, but she bore all her sufferings with Christian fortitude and resignation, and from the time she took to her bed, which was a few days before her death, she expressed no desire to get well, but on the contrary she prayed the Lord that if consistent to his will, he would shorten her sufferings and take her to himself. The deceased united with the Church of Christ in her 20th year, since which time she has ever been a faithful member of the same. She leaves a husband, who extends his sincere thanks to the many friends for their kindness during his hours of trouble, six sons, two daughters, three brothers and numerous friends to mourn her departure, while her father, mother, first husband and daughter have gone before.
