In the 1920 US Federal Census for Justice Precinct 4, Camp, Texas, 67 year-old Indiana-born farmer L B McCaslin owns his farm but with a mortgage. He is doing General Farming. He and his 43-year-old Texas-born wife Maude have in their household their Texas-born children, 21-year-old farmer R A [Russell], 19-year-old farmer E R [Real on the preceding census], 17-year-old Loreine [Lorraine], 13-year-old Thelma, and 8-year-old Gordon. The childrens last name is recorded as McCasland, but their parents is recorded as McCaslin on the preceding page. Everyone except Gordon can read and write. Thelma and Gordon have attended school in the past year.

In the 1930 US Federal Census for Justice Precinct 4, Camp, Texas, 78 year-old Indiana-born farmer L B [Levi B] McCaslin and his 53-year-old Texas-born wife Maud were married when he was 45 and she was 21-years old. In their household is their youngest son, 19-year-old Texas-born farm laborer, Gordon. Levi owns his farm on which he does General Farming. Levi has never served in the military.

When Gordon C McCasland died on 14 April 1972 in Morris County, Texas, he was listed as a widower. His death certificate states that he died in the Pine Crest Nursing Home in Daingerfield, Morris, Texas on 14 April, 1972 after a stay of four days. McCasland and his mother's name was Mattie Maud Garrett. Gordon served in WWII. He died of metastitic carcinoma due to hypernephroma of the left kidney, duration approximately three months. The informant was Thelma Forrest. Burial was in the Lafayette Cemetery in Lafayette, Upshur, Texas, funeral director Erman Smith.
