In the 1880 US Federal Census for Minneapolis, Hennepin, Minnesota, 15-year-old, Iowa-born Edna Cook is living in a boarding house at 628 University Ave SE, run by 39-year-old, Pennsylvania-born Hannah Mullen. She is "at school". Another boarder is 37-year-old, Pennsylvania-born minister, Theodore M Riley. Edna's parents were born in New York [mistranscribed as Maine]. Edna is an orphan.

In the 1910 US Federal Census for 3rd Ward, Minneapolis, Hennepin, Minnesota, Charles (age 45) and Edna (age 43) and their three children, Harvey C (Charles Harvey Jr, age 18), Helen E (age 16) and Margaret E (age 4) are living at 2119 Dupont Ave W. Charles and Edna have been married 19 years. All three of their children are living.

In the 1930 US Federal Census for the 3rd Ward, Minneapolis, , Hennepin, Minnesota, Edna is a 63-year-old widowed head of household, living in a rented house at 2112 Emerson Avenue North. Living with her are her 35-year-old widowed daughter, Helen McCaslin Menk, her 37-year-old son, Charles, a traveling saleman for a battery company, his 23-year-old second wife, Mary, and his 13-year-old daughter from his first marriage, Elizabeth.

Sixty-eight-year, three-month, twenty-seven-day-old Edna C McCaslin died at home (2112 Emerson Ave No, Minneapolis, Hennepin, Minnesota) at 4:15 am on 23 Jan 1935. She had been attended by Marlery Duryea, M.D., who stated that primary cause of death was mitral stenosis (from rhumatic fever at the age of 12, complicated by auricular fibrillation, chronic nephritis and cardiac decompensation). She was white, female, a housewife, widowed and born on 26 Sep 1866 in Iowa to ? Cook and Lila Stafford (both born in New York). Her death was reported by her son, Charles H McCaslin, of the same residence. She was buried at Crystal Lake Cemetery on 25 Jan 1935. Welander-Quist Co of 1200 West Broadway was the undertaker.
