LEES , Roberta Aber "Robin"Mrs. Lees, 90, recently of Charlotte and Towson, MD since 1963 died at Carolinas Medical Center on Wednesday, November 29, 2006. She was born in Eau Claire, WI August 11, 1916 daughter of the late Edward F. and Catharine Brown Aber. Mrs. Lees graduated high school in Wawatosa, WI and was a graduate of Tufts University in Sommerville, MA in 1939. She also attended art school at the Worcester Art Museum in Worcester, MA. Robin was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII and the Korean War serving in the specialist medical corps from 1943 to 1952. Mrs. Lees was an Occupational Therapist and was a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association and the Maryland Occupational Therapy Association. Robin enjoyed gardening, reading, woodcarving, traveling, beachcombing and was proud of being a Girl Scout Leader. She was also a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Towson, MD. Survivors include her daughters, Roberta Lees Hohman of Towson, MD and Catharine Kendall Lees of Charlotte, NC. Also surviving is her grandson, Reilly Andrew Hohman of Towson, MD. A service to celebrate her life will be held Thursday, December 7, at 7:00 PM in the Dilworth Chapel of Hankins & Whittington with the family receiving friends following the service until 8:30 PM. A service will be held in Towson, MD at a later date. Robin's family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the nursing staff on 9A at Carolinas Medical Center-Main who cared for her the last months of her life with love, consideration and compassion. We also want to extend our thanks to the many CMC respiratory therapists who worked so devotedly to make her comfortable. The many chaplains of CMC, especially Angela Powell, provided everyone in the family with prayers, spiritual support and guidance along this journey. We also want to thank the wonderful clergy from Myers Park Presbyterian Church who visited Robin every week and helped give her strength to "soldier on." Finally, our deepest thanks go to Dr. Daniel Howard who has been Robin's pulmonologist since 2003. He shepherded her back to health and independence in 2003 and cared for her this year with great understanding, thoughtfulness and skill.
