Kenneth James McCaslin, 67, of Salina, OK died Sunday, September 27, 2009 at the Jack C. Montgomery V.A. Medical Center in Muskogee, OK after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. K.J. was born December 31, 1941 in Tulsa, OK as the only child to George and Charlene (Bloyed) McCaslin. He served in the Army's Military Police during the Vietnam War. After he left the military he joined his father in the family business, McCaslin Recapping. K.J. later worked in the trucking business as an owner/operator. One of his favorite pastimes was flying his Cessna. Later in life he lived on his boat, the "Amanda Jane," in the Pacific Ocean, enjoying his two other favorite hobbies, boating and fishing. K.J. is survived by his daughters Jane York and husband Paul of Broken Arrow, Amanda McCaslin of Nashville; grandchildren Lauren and Nicholas York; the mother of his daughters, Sharon Woolery; and numerous cousins and friends. Funeral services will be 10:00am Thursday, October 1, 2009 at Fort Gibson National Cemetery with Dr. Larry Wilson officiating. Honorary pallbearers are Chuck Roberson, Jerry Sien, Jerry Woolery, Paul York, Dennis Bloyed, and Joe Branham.(Find A Grave Memorial# 42504334)
