In the 1930 US Federal Census for South Bend, St Joseph, Indiana, 47-year-old Frank Kinnaman and his 48-year-old Indiana-born wife Della [Blackketter] Kinnaman were married when he was 24- and she was 23-years-old [sic]. They have in their household their Indiana-born children, 18-year -old Isabelle and 5-year-old Lyle, and a lodger 27-year-old Indiana-born Paul Morrow. This household is living in a rented house at 741 Cushing, for which Frank pays $40 a month in rent. The family has a radio. Lyle has attended school in the past year. All the others are literate and speak English. Frank is a demonstrator for electric ? [illegible]. Isabelle does general office work for "underwear". Both have worked on the last regularly scheduled work day. Frank has not served in the military. Everyone's parents were born in Indiana.

Lyle J. Kinnaman, 72, of South Bend, Ind.,
passed away after a brief illness at 1 p.m.
Sunday, Dec. 8, in Holy Cross Care and
Rehabilitation Center. Mr. Kinnaman was
born on Nov. 24, 1924, in South Bend, and
was a lifelong area resident. He retired in
1985, after 38 years as a director of custo-
mer Service with the U.S. Postal Service.
He was a World War II Army Air Corps veter-
an, serving three years in India. On July 16,
1949, in South Bend, he married Rose Marie
Sule, who survives. He is also survived by a
brother-in-law, Jack Sule of South Bend;
a sister-in-law, Betty Sule of South Bend;
and two nieces, Cathleen McMinn of St. Louis,
Mo. and Sheryl Allison of South Bend. A sister,
Isabelle Brownfield, preceded Mr. Kinnaman
in death on Oct. 4, 1980. There will be no
services; cremation will take place. Memorial
contributions may be made to Hospice of St.
Joseph County, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South
Bend, IN 46637-3437, or to the charity of
donor's choice. Kaniewski Funeral Homes, Inc.,
is in charge of arrangements.
