In the 1900 US Federal Census for Frenchburg, Menifee, Kentucky, 45-year-old Kentucky-born Alvin Langworthy and his 40-year-old Kentucky-born wife Mary E [Barker] Langworthy have been married twenty-four years. Mary has born seven children, but only five are living. Four of these five children, all Kentucky-born, are living with them. They are 17-year-old John D, 11-year-old Della B [sic this is Lila], 6-year-old Sarah E and one-year-old Ray L.[sic] Alvin is a blacksmith and John is a day laborer. John and Lila have attended school five months of the past year. Everyone except Sarah and Ray can read, write and speak English. Everyone's parents were born in Kentucky.

Forty-eight-year-old farmer Alvin Langworth, born in Kentucky, died at St Elizabeth's Hospital, Covington, Kenton, Kentucky on 24 Jan 1903 after a one week stay. His father's name was S B Langworthy, his mother's name was Nancy and both were born in Kentucky. His place of residence was 29 W. 12 St, Covington, Kentucky. The predisposing cause of death was chronic nephritis and the immediate cause was exhaustion. The duration of his last illiness was six weeks. He was attended by Dr Jno Mollay [?]. He was buried 26 Jan 1903. The address of "place of interment" is Rothwell St, Menafee County, and the name of the undertaker was Gus W Menniger.
