Obituaries For Monday, March 29, 2004, Leader Times, Kittanning, Pennsylvania John Herbert Alden Jr.Fox Chapel John Herbert Alden Jr., formerly of Fox Chapel, died Monday, March 1, 2004, in Casper, Wyo. He was born Dec. 3,1925, in Massena, N.Y., the son of the late John and Margery Alden of Fox Chapel. Mr. Alden graduated from Aspinwall High School in 1943 and attended Greenbrier Military School, in W. Va., until entering the Marine Corps in March 1944. He served in the South Pacific during World War II and was honorably discharged in June 1946. He recieved [sic] a bachelor's of science degree in geology from the University of Pittsburgh in 1950. He worked for American Petroleum as a geology consultant and worked in personal investments. Survivors include his wife, Marie Gucciardo Alden, whom he married Sept. 28, 1963; a daughter, Murielle, of Casper; a son, Herbert Alden of Seattle; a sister, Melissa Alden of New York City; and two grandchildren. Arrangements were by MEMORIAL CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, Casper. Burial was at Altonah Cemetery, Bethlehem, Pa.
