In the 1910 US Federal Census for Liberty, White, Indiana, 35-year-old Indiana-born, farmer Sherman Bowser [sic] is head of a household that contains his 35-year-old, Indiana-born wife Clara [Hemphill] Bowser [sic] and their four Indiana-born children, 13-year-old Mack, eleven-year-old Ferol [sic], seven-year-old Ella and 2-year-old Ruth. Sherman and Clara have been married for 13 years. Clara has borne four children and all are living. The family is living on a farm that Sherman owns, which has a mortgage. He is doing "general farming". Everyone except Ruth is literate and speaks English. Sherman's parents were born in Ohio. Clara's and the children's parents were born in Indiana.
