In the 1880 US Federal Census for Evansville, Vanderburgh, Indiana, 50-year-old Ohio-born pump agent John B and his 48-year-old Pennsylvania-born wife Matilda [Quigley] Williams have in their household their Indiana-born daughters, 24-year-old music teacher Mary E and 16-year-old schoolgirl Henrietta O. The family is living in a duplex at 1318 First Avenue. John's parents were born in New Jersey, Matilda's father in Pennsylvania and her mother in Maryland, and Mary and Henrietta's father was born in Ohio and their mother in Pennsylvania.

William O Wykoff married Etta [sic] O Williams on 21 Jun 1888 in Jefferson County, Indiana.

In the 1900 US Federal Census for Montgomery, Jennings, Indiana, 39-year-old Indiana-born preacher W O [transcribed as N O, William O] and his 36-year-old Indiana-born wife Etta O [Williams] Wycoff have been married 12 years and have had eight children, seven of whom are living. These Indiana-born children are 10-year-old Marion F, 9-year-old Grace M, 8-year-old Willetta, 7-year-old Lee H, 5-year-old Charles J, 4-year-old Ralph L and 2-year-old Paul S. Marion, Grace and Willetta are attending school. They and their parents can read, write and speak English. The family is living in a rented house. William's parents were born in Indiana, while Etta's father was born in Ohio and her mother in Pennsylvania.

She was female, white, married and a housewife, born in Lafayette, Indiana. Her father's name was John B. Williams and her mother's maiden name Matilda Quigley, both born in Indiana. The informant was WIlliam Wykoff. Etta was buried in Springdale Cemetery on 12 Jul 1907, Fred Schneider, undertaker.
