On 5 Jun 1917 when 27-year-old Oscar Bruce McCaslin registers for the WWI Draft, he states that he is living at 1001 Fourth, Forest Park, Missouri, that he is a narual-born citizen, born 24 Feb 1890 in Coyville, Kansas, that he is an Express Messenger for Wells Fargo Express Co and a Train Baggageman for the St Louis & Southern Railroad n Monett, Missouri. He is married and has a wife dependent on him for suport. His description is caucasian, tall, medium build with dark brown eyes and dark hair. He is not bald.

In the 1920 US Federal Census for Forest Park, Pierce Township, Lawrence, Missouri, 30-year-old Kansas-born Oscar and his 27-year-old Missouri-born wife Pearl [Bridges] McCaslin are still living at 1001 Fourth in a house that Oscar owns, free of mortgage. Oscar is a railroad brakeman. Both Oscar and Pearl can read, write and speak English. Oscar's father was born in Indiana and his mother in Illinois, while Pearl's father was born in Illinois and her mother in Missouri.

In the 1930 US Federal Census for Forest Park, Lawrence, Missouri, 40-year-old Kansas-born Oscar and his 35-year-old Missouri-born wife Pearl [Bridges] McCaslin were married when he was 25- and she was 22-years old. They have in their household their Missouri-born daughter, 9-year-old Clauris [?] who has attended school in the past year. Oscar and Pearl can read, write and speak English. The family is still living at 1001 North Fourth Street in a house that Oscar owns, worth $2500. They own a radio. Oscar is a brakeman for a steam railroad who has worked on the last regularly scheduled work day. He has not served in the military. Oscar's parent's birthplaces are recorded as United States, Pearl's father was born in Illinois and her mother in Missouri, and Clauris' father was born in Kansas and her mother in Missouri.
