In the 1900 US Federal Census for Geneva, Jennings, Indiana, 33-year-old Indiana-born groceryman Morton McLellan [McClellan] and his 33-year-old Indiana-born wife Ella [Mary Ella Mountz] have been married eight years and have had three children, of which two are living. These two Indiana-born children are 4-year-old Blanche and one-year-old Mary. Also in the McClellan household is Mortons 24-year-old Indiana-born groceryman nephew Ira H [Henry Ira] Carson. the family is living in a rented house. Morton, Ella and Ira can read, write and speak English. Mortons father was born in Indiana and his mother in Kentucky. Ellas father was born in Ohio and her mother in Kentucky.
