Shared note

In the 1870 US Federal Census for Pawnee, Nebraska Territory, 48-year-old physician J. N. [Jeremiah N] McCasland owns $5,000 in real estate and $1,000 in person property. He and his 30-year-old wife E.A. [Elizabeth Ann Woods] McCasland have in their household their children, 21-year-old Louisa, 19-year-old Elzora [Rachel Elzora McCasland] Butter [Butler], 14-year-old Lilly, 9-year-old Minnie, 5-year-old Ettie, one-month old Herman, and their grandson, Elzoras child 3-year-old Andrew Butter [Butler]. Minnie and the younger children were all born in Nebraska, while Lilly, Elzora, Louisa and their parents were all born in Indiana. Lillie, Minnie and Hattie have all attended school in the past year. Elzora must have married when she was 15 or 16 years old.

In the 1880 US Federal Census for Pawnee City, Pawnee, Nebraska, 58-year-old Indiana-born physician and surgeon Jerimiah McCasland and his 50-year-old Indiana-born wife Elizabeth [Woods] have in their household their youngest Nebraska-born children, 17-year-old Hattie C, 15-year-old Ettie M, and 10-year-old Herman C. Ettie and Herman have attended school in the past year. Jerimiah's parents were born in Kentucky whereas Elizabeth's father was born in Kentucky and mother in Indiana.

In the 1900 US Federal Census for Lincoln, Lancaster, Nebraska, 39-year-old, Illinois-born James D Parker and his 36-year-old Nebraska-born wife, Hattie C [McCasland] Parker have been married nine years. Hattie has borne no children. They have in their household James' 69-year-old, Vermont-born widowed father, Soland [sic] Parker. This household is living in a rented house at 935 South 9th (Blk C). Everyone is literate and speaks English. James is an "ice merchant" and owner of his own business. James' father was born in Vermont and his mother in Massachusetts, Hattie's father was born in Kentucky and her mother in Indiana, and Solon's parents were born in Ireland.

In the 1910 US Federal Census for Kansas City, Jackson, Missouri, 49-year-old Illinois-born James D and his 47-year-old Nebraska-born wife Hattie C [McCasland] Parker have been married 18 years in a first marriage for both, and have had no children. They have in their household 11-year-old Missouri-born Gladys Paddon, whom the transcriber has designated as James' mother-in-law, which is not possible. The census taker's writing is so scrawled that I can't make out what the relationship is recorded as, however Gladys is their niece, daughter of Myron and Minnie E [McCasland] Paddon. Everyone in the household can read, write and speak English. Gladys has attended school in the past year. James is living on his "own" income. This household is living at 4145 Virginia in a house that James owns that has a mortgage. James' father was born in Vermont and his mother in Massachusetts, Hattie's father was born in Kentucky and her mother in Indiana, and Gladys' father was born in Iowa and her mother in Nebraska.

In the 1920 US Federal Census for Adrian City, Mound, Bates, Missouri, 59-year-old Illinois-born farmer J D [James D] Parker and his 57-year-old Nebraska-born wife Hattie C [McCasland] Parker have in their household their niece, 21-year-old Missouri-born Gladys Padden and James' brother, 54-year-old Illinois-born farmer H A Parker. James owns the land that he and H A are farming, but whether he has a mortgage is unknown. James and H A's father was born in Vermont and their mother in Massachusetts, Hattie's father was born in Kentucky and her mother in Indiana, and Gladys' father was born in Iowa and her mother in Nebraska

Hattie C Parker's Missouri Death Certificate states that she died 20 May 1923 at 3 p.m at her residence in Liberty, Clay, Missouri. The cause of death was nephitis of five or six years duration. She was attended by Dr Wm H Goodson from 18 May 1923 to 20 May 1923. Hattie was 60-years and 5-months-old when she died. She was female, white and married, born on 26 Dec 1862 in Nebraska. Her father was J N McCasland, born in Ohio [sic Indiana] and her mother was Elizabeth L Woods [sic] also born in Ohio [sic Indiana]. The informant was Hattie's husband, J D Parker of Library, Missouri. Place of burial was Fairview Cemetery, burial date was 21 May 1923, and the undertaker was H W Hill.
