Shared note

In the 1880 US Federal Census for Graham, Jefferson, Indiana, 37-year-old Indiana-born farmer John A and his 36-year-old Indiana-born wife Rhoda [McCaslin] Cline have in their household their children, 5-year-old Indiana-born Effie and 1-year-old Indiana-born Fred. Johns father was born in Kentucky and his mother in Indiana. Rhodas parents are recorded as having been born in Indiana, but this is incorrect as they were born in Kentucky. Although Rhoda is recorded on the 1880 census, she died in December, 1879.

On 12 Sep 1918, when 39-year-old Fred Cline registers for the WWI draft, he states that he was born 23 June 1879, that he is living at 525 Chadwick, Indianapolis, Marion, Indiana, that he is a native born citizen, that he is a "collector" for World's Furniture Company at 327 West Washington Street, Indianapolis, Marion, Indianaad that his nearest relative is his father, John Allison Cline, living at 225 Winter Avenue, Indianapolis, Marion, Indiana. His description is tall, medium build, with brown eyes and dark hair. He has no physical problems which would disqualify him for military service.

In the 1930 US Federal Census for Indianapolis, Marion, Indiana, 50-year-old Indiana-born "collector" Fred Cline is lodging with 59-year-old Indiana-born Joseph C and his 30-year-old Indiana-born wife Nora Hanley. Another lodger is 32-year-old Indiana-born Claude Earhart. Everyone is literate. Fred, Joseph and Claude have worked on the last regularly scheduled work day. The household is living at 1012 Lexington.

On 27 Apr 1942, when 63-year-old Fred Allison Cline registers for the WWII draft, he states that he is living at 1012 Lexington Avenue, Indianapolis, Marion, Indiana, that his mailing address is the same, that he doesn't have a telephone, that he was born 23 June 1879 in Jefferson County, Indiana. The name and address of the person who will always know his address is Nora Earhart [his landlord] at 1012 Lexington Ave. He is working for the Dan Olive Stove Company at Kentucky Avenue and California Street, Indianapolis, Marion, Indiana. His description is white, 5 feet 9 inches, 175 pounds, with brown eyes and hair and a light complexion. He has no other obvious physical characteristics.
