These three Indiana-born children are 15-year-old Sarah, 11-year-old Oscar and 8-year-old Mary. Also in this household are Anna's Kentucky-born parents 76-year-old Paul and 68-year-old Sarah [maiden name unknown] Caplinger who have been married 49 years and have had ten children, eight are living. The family is living at 16 Becker Street in a rented house. Sarah, Oscar and Mary have attended school nine months of the past year. William owns a furniture store. Everyone can read write, and speak English. William's and the children's parents were born in Indiana, Anna's parents in Kentucky, Paul's parents in Virginia and Sarah's parents in Kentucky.

On 5 Jun 1917 when 28-year-old Oscar P Johnson registers for the WWI draft, he states that he is living at 64 North Kenmore Road, Indianapolis, Marion, Indiana, that he was born 16 Sep 1888 in Bridgeport, Marion, Indiana, and that he is, therefore, a natural born citizen. He is a city fireman working for the city [Indianapolis] at 27 Fire Station. He is married with a wife and one child and has had no military service. He is tall, medium height with light blue eyes and light brown hair. He is not bald.

In the 1920 US Federal Censu for San Bernardino, San Bernardino, California, 31-year-old Rail Road Switchman Oscar P Johnson, his 30-year-old wife Ruth [Osborn] and their son 11-year-old Roger are living in a rented house at 872 Kansas(?). This residence is close to that of Fred Reynolds.
