Shared note | Last Will and Testament of George Shillideay Sr, dated 15 September 1791 and proven 13 April 1792 in Wythe County, Virginia. "In the name of God amen. I George Shillideay of Wythe County calling to mind my mortality, Knowing that is is appointed for all men to die, do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament, and first of all I give and comment my Sprit unto God the Father of Spirits, and I recommend my bodey unto the devil to be buried in Christian manner nothin doubting but at the general resurrection I shall receive the same by Almighty power of God such worldly estate wherewith it hat pleased God to bless me in this life and give and dispose of the same... First that all just debts be payed. I will that my estate be not appraised. I will that my beloved Esther Shillideay during the time of her widowhood have power to sell make good titles transact in the affairs of life of her own and my children's benefit and comfrot. I will that she have full power for that end of my wole estate real and personal. I will that wh have full power to give any part of portion of my Estate to any of my children at marriage or when she sees necessary. If she would be called up by death in her widowhood I will that she have power to will the estate as she pleases only to my children. If she should die without a will I will that my estate be equally divided amongst such of my children as have not received their part in my lifetime by me or by there mother. If any of my Children be not schooled I will that there schooling clothing and support be taken out of the Estate before it is divided. If my well beloved wife Esther Shillideay should marry I give and bequeath unto her the third of my whole Estate to be her only property forever and the other two thirds to be divided in the same manner as in the case of my wife dying without a Will. I appoint and constitute my well beloved wife Ester Shillideay Exectrix. Likewise my sons George, Edward and Andrew B Shillideay Executors of this my last Will and Testament. And this annulls and makes void all former wills made by me. Witness my hand and seal September ther 15th day 1791. Witmesses: William Patterson, John Patterson, Joseph Baker, Hannah Baker [signed] George Shillideay" At a court continued and held for the County of Wythe the 15th day of April 1792, this the last Will and Testament of George Shillideay dec'd. was exhibited in Court and proven by the oaths of John Patterson, Joseph Baker and Hannah Baker, three of the witnesses therto and ordered to be recorded.
