In the 1880 US Federal Census for Perry, Marion, Indiana, 26-year-old Indiana-born farmer Mathias and his 26-year-old Ohio-born wife Sarah [Bails] Schloesser have in their household a niece, 10-year-old Indiana-born Mary Milburn, and a hired man, 19-year-old Indiana-born Albert Bowen. Mathias' parents were born in Pennsylvania, Sarah's in Ohio and Mary's and Albert's in Indiana.

DEATH OCCURS AT INDIANAPOLIS

 Mrs. Sarah Schloesser, of Moral township, died Thursday afternoon at 1:45 at the St. Vincent hospital. She was 89 years old and had been ill for only six weeks, but had been taken to the hospital last week for a major surgery.

She was the widow of Mathias Schloesser, who died six years ago. Mrs. Schloesser had lived alone and had performed all her household duties until her last illness. Surviving are three children, Harry, of Moral township; Clarence, of Johnson county, and Mrs. Clara Smith, of Fairmount, Illinois. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the Baptist church in Fairland. The body will be place in the [Temple Hill] mausoleum at Shelbyville. Contributed by Barb Huff for Sarah Disher
