Alex- ander in hour of Mrs. Mary McCaslin of Topeka, Kansas. Those present were Thomas Alexander and wife, S. B Alexander and wife, Miss Maggie F. Alexander, John McCaslin, Miss Bell McCaslin, Mrs. Louisa Crewell, Mrs. Hattie Devore and daughter, Clara, and R. H. Parr. In the 1910 US Federal Census for Needham, Johnson, Indiana, 51-year-old Illinois-born John Holcomb and his 44-year-old Indiana-born wife Hattie D [Alexander Devore] Holcomb have been married seven years. Hattie has borne three children [Clara and Charles Devore], but only one, 5-year-old Indiana-born Beulah M Holcomb, is living. John owns the land (but with a mortgage) on which he is doing general farming. John and Hattie are literate and speak English. Beulah has not attended school in the past year. The Franklin Evening Star, Friday, August 19, 1921, page 3 column 6 SIXTY PEOPLE AT REUNION OF ALEXANDER FAMILY Sixty people were present at the Alexander family reuinion which was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ira Parr Thursday. After a bountiful basket dinner was served the following officers were elected for the ensuing year: President, Mrs. Mary Hamblen; vice-president, Mrs. Hattie Holcomb: and secretary and treasurer, Miss Nancy Todd. Robert Parr, 87 years of age is the oldest living member of the family and he was present at the reunion. 1930 US Federal Census for Needham, Johnson, Indiana records 64-year-old, Indiana-born widow Hattie Holcomb has in her household, her 29-year-old, Indiana-born son-in-law Hubert Mardis, her 24-year-old, Indiana-born daughter Beulah (Holcomb) Mardis, and her Indiana-born grandchildren, 4-year-old Dean H. and 3-year-old Norma J. Hattie is a farmer doing general farming. Hubert is an office clerk for an oil company. Huber and Beulah were married when he was 24- and she was 20-years-old.
