Shared note | The Franklin Democrat, Friday, February 11, 1898, Volume XXXVIII Number 31, page 1 column 6 CIRCUIT COURT. Judge Buckingham convened the February term of the John- son circuit court bright and early Monday morning, and went to work with a will to make a good showing on the largest docket ever placed before the court. The fol- lowing cases have been disposed of: . . . P G Covert, guardian of Ezra and Mary Vannuys. Petition to sell land granted. In the 1910 US Federal Census for Portland, Multnomah, Oregon, 29-year-old Indiana-born Clarence and his 28-year-old Indiana-born wife Mary A [VanNuys] Fisher have been married seven years and have one child, 5-year-old Indiana-born Mary A. The adults are literate and speak English. I can neither read their street address nor what Clarence's occupation is. Clarence's father was born in Indiana and his mother in Tennessee, everyone else's parents were born in Indiana. In the 1920 US Federal Census for Seattle, King, Washington, 39-year-old Indiana-born Clarence and his 38-year-old Indiana-born wife Mary A [VanNuys] Fisher have in their household their children, 14-year-old Mary A, 9-year-old Dorothy, 7-year-old Alice E, and 4-year-old E Nell. From the birthplaces of the children, Indiana-born Mary, Oregan-born Dorothy and Alice and California-born E Nell, the family lived in Indiana, moved to Oregon around 1911 and to California around 1916. Their last move was to Washington before 1920 as the family is living at 2223 N 44th, which Clarence owns but with a mortgage, when the census was taken. Mary, Dorothy and Alice have attended school in the past year. Clarence, Mary and Mary are literate and can speak English. Clarence is an "ad man" for a motor agency. Clarence's father was born in Indiana and his mother in Tennessee, everyone else's parents were born in Indiana. Mary was reported to be aged 44 years 20 days when she died on 22 Dec 1927 in Seattle, King, Washington, which would make her estimated birth date 2 Dec 1883. The Johnson County Family Bible Records records her birthdate as 2 Dec 1881. |
