MRS. ALLEN McCASLIN Death of a Well-Known Lady Wednesday Morning About 2 oclock Wednesday morning at her home south of the city occurred the death of Mrs. Allen McCaslin, one of the well-known ladies of the county. She had been for many years a confirmed invalid and a great sufferer but bore all her afflictions with Christian fortitude and patience. The funeral services will be conducted at the house this morning by Rev. Marshal. The deceased was born in Millstone, N. J., November 20th, 1820. She was married in 1840 to Allen McCaslin and began housekeeping in the home where she resided for fifty-seven years and where she died. To them were born three daughters and two sons. Mr. McCaslin and four of the children are dead, Mrs. J. B. Luyster being the only surviving child. She was a sister of Edward, Peter, John, Cornelius and R. W. Ditmars of this county. In early life Mrs. McCaslin united with the Presbyterian church of Shiloh and always lived a consistent Christian life.

Public Sale. J. B. Luyster will sell at the farm of Mrs. Allen McCaslin, one and half miles southwest of Franklin, Ind., on Thursday, Sept. 23, 1897, their full herd of Poland Chiana [sic] hogs, 30 head of one year old and over brood sows, some have young litters by side, some safe in pig, 25 guilts [sic] of spring forms, 10 spring forms of boars, one yearling boar, corn, old and new, hay in barn, farm implements, 18 head of Jersey cattle, oats in bin. Such an opportunity was never offered to the farners of Johnson county to get good breeding stock. 6 3w.
