In the 1860 US Federal Census for Jennings, Scott, Indiana, 37-year-old William G Harrod is a well-to-do farmer with real estate worth $4,200 and personal property worth $600. He and his 30-year-old wife Sarah A [Oard] Harrod have, in their household, their children, 11-year-old Columbus B, 8-year-old Alice G and 6-month old Florida, 19-year-old Iowa Vautris (who is working as a domestic) and 7-month old Milo Buxton whose relationship to the family or Iowa Vautris is not known by me.

In the 1870 US Federal Census for Jennings, Scott, Indiana, 47-year-old William Harrod is a prosperous farmer with real estate worth $7,000 and personal properties $2,250. He and his 40-year-old wife Sarah [Oard] Harrod have in their household 21-year-old Columbus B, 18-year-old Alice G and 10-year-old Florida.

In the 1900 US Federal Census for Jackson, Jackson, Indiana, 43-year-old Eugene and 40-year-old Flora [Florida] have been married 17 years. Avenue with their children, 16-year-old Pauline and 11-year-old Harod [Clifford Harrod]. This census states that Florida has borne two children and both are living which does not agree with the 1900 census information and is incorrect.

On 12 Sep 1918, when Clifford registered for the WW I draft, he gave his permanent address as his mother's house at 148 E 23 Street, 12 Salisbury Apartments, Portland, Oregon.

Florida has probably separated from Eugene before 1920 as they are not living together as recorded in the 1920 for Indianapolis, Marion, Indiana, on which Eugene is listed as a widower. In fact, Flora is living in San Francisco, San Francisco In the household of her nephew and niece 54-year-old Iowa-born Edward S and his 46-year-old Indiana-born wife Roberta [Cruson] Rohr. Also in this household are Floras daughter, 24-year-old Indiana-born Pauline [McCaslin} Langley and Paulines husband 22-year-old Indiana-born Walter Langley. The household is living in a rented house on Leavenworth Street. Edward is a salesman for a printer, Flora is a practical nurse, Pauline is a stenographer, and Walter is a coppersmith.

in the 1922 and 1924 Oakland, Alameda California Voters Registration list, Mrs Flora [sic] [Harrod] McCaslin is recorded as living at 715 Hilgirt Ave with her son Clifford H McCaslin. Flora is a housewife and Clifford owns a typewriter business. Both are Republican.
