| Shared note | In the 1850 US Federal Census for Nineveh, Johnson County, Indiana, Polly (Mary) has married Reuben Nay after the death of her first husband, Samuel Sellers. This appears to be a blended family of mine, yours and ours. Living with Reuben and Mary are Reubens children, Joseph L (age 17 and a farm laborer), and Frances Jane (age 16), Marys children Elizabeth (age 12), Sarah Ann (age 8), and Louisa C (Caroline Louisa, age 7) and their children, Margaret (age 4) and Roland T (age 5 months). All the children are listed with the last name of Nay, so this is my best guess at assigning them to the correct parents. In the 1860 census, both Elizabeth and Louisa (Carrie) are listed as Sellers so I know their parentage is correct. In the 1860 US Federal Census for Nineveh, Johnson County, Indiana, Polly (Mary) and Reuben have in their blended family their three children, Margaret E (age 13), Reuben S (age 8), and Elijah M (age 5) and two daughters from her first marriage, Elizabeth (age 21) and Louisa C (Caroline Louisa, age 16) Sellers. Polly cannot read nor write. After Pollys death, Reuben married for a third time. The Franklin Democrat, Friday, May 21, 1880, Volume 1, Number 46, page 3, column 2 DIED. Reuben Nay, an old settler of Nineveh township, departed this life on the 18th inst. and was buried the following day. His remains were followed to the grave by a large concourse of friends.
