Mrs. Demaree was born in this county September 6, 1852. The children born onto the second marriage of our subject were: Mary Ester, Hattie, Sarah E, deceased, Bertha Jane, Mabel Edna deceased, Byron M. and John R."

The Franklin Democrat, Friday, November 1, 1889, Volume XXX, Number 19, page 4 column 2 FROM OVER THE COUNTY. CHRISTIAN CHAPEL. Little John, the two year old son of Jesse Y. and Margaret A. Demaree, died on Saturday af- ternoon at 1:40 oclock, Octo- ber 19th, of diphtheria. The funeral took place at Shiloh church on Sunday following at 3 oclock p.m. The funeral dis- course was preached by Rev. Dr. Pugh of Hopewell to a very large number of relatives and friends. The Drs remarks were appropriate and touching. At the close of the services the body of little John was laid in its last resting place to be called forth on the resurrection day.
