In the 1910 US Federal Census for Casco, Allegan, Michegan, 37-year-old Ezra McCasin [McCaslin] is farming the land he owns free and clear of mortgage. He and his 35-year-old wife Lillian [Cramer] McCashin [McCaslin] have been married for16 years. In their household are their two survivng children, 13-year-old Helen and 5-year-old Richard, and a hired girl , 20-year-old Lula More .s1937 A third child, Henry, died in 1899 when he was about 1-1/2-years old.

In the 1920 US Federal Census for Highland Park, Wayne, Michigan, Ezra, and Lillian are still living at 3114 John Street in a rented house. Ezra is no longer working for the Ford Company, but as a Gospel Missionary. In their household are their son, Richard (age 15 and attending school), their son-in-law, Theodore Teprich [Tepsich] (age 30 and a widower - his wife Helen having died in 1919) and their grandaughter, Elizabeth N [Elizabeth A Tepsich] (age 3-1/2).s1483

The 1930 US Federal Census for Detroit, Wayne, Michigan shows Ezra (age 57) and his family (wife Lillian, age 55, and son Richard, age 25) living at 5256 Maplewood which Ezra owns, worth $8,000. Ezra and Lillian have been married 36 years as he was 21- and she was 19-years-old when they married. Ezra is a minister at the Hope Gospel Mission, Lillian has no occupation (as if being a ministers wife wasnt a full time job) and Richard is a tool maker in an auto plant. Also in this household are two roomers, 58-year-old, Kentucky-born plasterer, Charles I Hutchinson and his wife, 44-year-old, Virginia-born Margaret E Hutchinson. Everyone is literate and speaks English. He does not have a wage or salary, but has other income. Lillian is a housewife who is not looking for work. She has no "other" income. The 1943 Dearborn City Directory finds Richard N McCaslin listed as a forman at the Ford Motor Company. He and his wife, Helen L, are living at 7447 Theisen. s6153

Richard died 6 Jul 1944 in Elk Rapids, Antrim, Michigan. He was born 1 Oct 1904 in Allegan County, Michigan to Ezra W McCaslin and Lillian Cramer McCaslin and was married.s6154 Richard is buried in Grand Lawn Cemetery Section 20 Lot 10 Space 14, his headstone reads "Husband" (Find A Grave Memorial# 12415413).s2514 The family story is that he drowned, but no details are remembered and I have not been able to confirm it from news sources.
