Shared note

of Bristol, Maine

In the 1850 US Federal Census for Brooklyn, Kings, New York, 37-year-old Massachusetts-born express agent Warren and his 37-year-old Maine-born wife Elizabeth [Morton] Studley have in their household their children, 11-year-old Massachusetts-born James Warren and 6-year-old New York-born Sarah E. Both James and Sarah have attended school in the past year. James' birthplace of Massachusetts and Sarah's birthplace of New York indicate that the family moved to New York from Massachusetts between 1839 and 1844, probably before 1842 as a third child, Charles Marden was buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Brooklyn, Kings, New York in June of that year.

In the 1864 New York City Directory, Warren Studley's home address is 69 E 27th. Warren died in October a year earlier. Apparently the directory information was acquired before his death.

In the 1865 City Directory for New York, New York, Elizabeth Studley, widow of Warren is living at 334 Lexington Ave.

In the 1867 New York City Directory, Elizabeth M. Studley, widow of Warren is living at W. 50th and Seventh Ave.

In the 1868 New York City Directory, Elizabeth M. Studley, widow of Warren is living at W. 50th and Seventh Ave.

In the 1869 New York City Directory, Elizabeth M. Studley, widow of Warren is living at 166 W. 50th

In the 1880 US Federal Census for Brooklyn, Kings, New York, 38-year-old New York-born Benjamin and his 36-year-old New York-born wife Sara E. [Studley] Mead have in their household their 11-year-old New York-born son Warren S. M. Mead, Sara's 66-year-old Maine-born widowed mother Elizabeth [Morton] Studley, a 35-year-old Louisiana-born boarder Albert R Logie, and a 40-year-old Irish servant Mary McCarran. Benjamin is a clerk in an import house and Albert is a store clerk, Warren has attended school in the past year. Benjamin's father was born in Connecticut and his mother in New York. Sara's father was born in Massachusetts and her mother in Maine. Elizabeth's parents were born in Maine.
