She passed away on Tuesday April 17, 2007 in Jacksboro, Texas. She was 95 years old. She married the late Henry L. Hicks on April 17, 1926 in Gilmer, Texas. She passed away on what would have been their 81st wedding anniversary. He preceded her in death on March 12, 1996. She was a homemaker and she also worked at Cox Nursing Home before its closing. She was a member of Live Oak Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a son Wayne Hicks. She is survived by four daughters Edna Hale of Anna, Texas, Carole Williams and husband Bobby of Mesquite, Texas, Martha Bullard and husband Richard of Crowley, Texas and Jan Preston and husband Roger of Kentucky; four sons Joe Hicks of Doddridge, Arkansas, David Hicks and wife Sharon of Jacksboro, Texas, Winfred Hicks of Sulphur Springs, Texas and Bill Hicks and wife Susan of Austin, Texas; 21 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Services will be Thursday morning at 10:00am at Live Oak Baptist Church in Jacksboro with Craig Lile officiating. Robin Lile will be singing Amazing Grace and The Sweet By and By. Pallbearers will include Bruce Sanford, Fidel Ortiz, Michael Hicks, Michael Willliams, Tim Williams and Shannon Bullard. Memorials may be made to: Concerned Citizens 400 E.
