They have in their household their Arkansas-born children 4-year 4-month old Ella May, 2-year 8-month old James Jr and one-year 8-month old Billie, and James' married sister-in-law 22-year-old Arkansas-born Wilma C Lammons. The household is living in a rented house, for which James pays $6 a month. All the adults can read, write and speak English. James is a farm laborer and has worked on the last regularly scheduled work day. He has not served in the military. Mabel and Wilma's father was born in Tennessee and their mother in Missouri; everyone else's parents were born in Arkansas. Obituary-Bald Knob Banner James M. Fletcher, age 60, of Bald Knob, died Monday, September 14th [1987], in St. Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock. He was a retired Manager of Dollar General Store in Bald Knob, a veteran of World War II and a member of the First Christian Church in Bald Knob. Mr. Fletcher was born at West Point, Arkansas, August 5, 1927, a son of James M. and Mabel Keith Fletcher. Survivors include: His wife: Wanda Sullivan Fletcher; Two sons: Tommy Fletcher of Searcy; Kenneth Fletcher of Prague, Oklahoma: one Daughter: Mrs. Tina Johnson of Prague; His Mother: Mrs. Mabel Fletcher of Bald Knob; One brother; Joe Fletcher of Little Rock; Two sisters: Mrs. Ella Mae Rooks of Gillett, Arkansas; Miss Reva Fletcher of Little Rock. Seven grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, September 16th, at 10:30 AM in the Powell Funeral Chapel with Rev. Lester Bickford and Rev. Dale Street officiating, burial was in Shady Grove Cemetery by Powell Funeral Home of Bald Knob. Serving as Pallbearers were: Gene Steward, Bill Butler, Lynn Davis, Wayne Wood, Jack Willis and Bob Canamore. Honorary pallbearers: Ed Beaty, Jack Patterson, Rex Caldwell and Glenn Reed. Mr. Fletcher was preceeded in death by hs father: James M. Fletcher Sr. and one brother: Carroll Dewayne Fletcher. |
