Shared note | In the 1930 US Federal Census for Henryetta, Okmulgee, Oklahoma, 40-year-old Texas-born Robert and his 30-year-old Oklahoma-born wife Althea [Johnson Moehle] McCaslin were married for the first time when he was 34- and she was 23-years old. This is Robert's first marriage, bur Althea's second. [Her first was to Adolph Moehle]. They have in their household Althea's 9-year-old Oklahoma-born son by her first husband, Herman Moehle recorded as Herman McCaslin, and their two Oklahoma-born sons, 5-year-old Monroe and one-year one-month old W. H, [William Henry]. The family is living in a rented house for which Robert pays $7 a month in rent. Herman has attended school in the past year. Robert is a barber and has worked on the last regularly scheduled work day. He has served in the military in WWI. Robert's parents were born in Arkansas [sic]; Althea's father was forn in Missouri, and her mother in Texas; the children's father was born in Texas and their mother in Oklahoma [sic]. He was also an active Mason and Hiram Award recipient, dedicating 40 years to the organization.He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Nita, in 1994. He is survived by his daughter, Victoria Shuler (Dennis), of Lakewood, Wash.; adopted daughter, Bernadette Stearns (Alan), of Long Beach, Calif.; grandchildren, Robert and Deborah Leff, Laurie Campbell, and Jeff Stearns; and three great-grandchildren.Memorial services will be conducted by Olympia Lodge #1 and Harmony Lodge #18 at the Masonic Temple, 521 SE North St, Olympia, at 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 31st.
