In the 1930 US Federal Census for Valley, Garland, Arkansas, 67-year-old Indiana-born farmer Charles and his 55-year-old [sic] Arkansas-born wife Princess L [Moncrief] McCaslin were married when he was 29- and she was 20-years old [abt 1892]. They have in their household four boarders, 50-year-old Will and 34-year-old Ella M [McCaslin Boswell] Garett, and their daughter Ella's children, 14-year-old Evelyn and 12-year-old Charles Boswell. Living on the next farms are two more McCaslin families, Charles's son, Emmett R, and Charles' brother Robert. Twenty-six-year-old Arkansas-born farmer Emmett R and his 21-year-old Arkansas-born wife Lucille [Maddox] McCaslin were married when he was 22- and she was 17-years old [abt 1926]. They have in their household their Arkansas-born children 2-year 5-month old Emmett R and 5-month old Arthur R. Forty-eight-year-old Arkansas-born farmer Robert E and his 45-year-old Arkansas-born wife Clara A [Rawls] McCaslin were married when he was 19- and she was 16-years old [abt 1901]. They have in their household their Arkansas-born children, 19-year-old Kenneth C, 16-year-old Hollis A, 13-year-old Helen G, 10-year-old Harold F, and 8-year-old Clinton J. Living next door is their oldest son Emmett R and his family. The McCaslins own their farms and have worked on the last regularly scheduled work day.

The 1940 US Federal Census for Valley, Garland, Arkansas records 37-year-old, Arkansas Emmett McCaslin, his wife, 31-year-old, Arkansas-born Lucile [Maddox] McCaslin and their Arkansas-born children, 12-year-old Ralph, 10-year-old Arthur R., 8-year-old Shelby, 6-year-old Sarah C, 4-year-old Stanley D and 1-year-old John R. The family is living on a rented farm in Royal, Arkansas. They were living in the same place in 1935. Emmett and Lucile have completed eighth grade. Ralph has completed sixth grade. Arthur has completed fourth grade. Shelby has completed second grade. Sarah, Stanley and John have not attended school. Emmett is self employed as an owner-operator of a dairy farm. He has worked 60 hours in the past week and 52 weeks in the past year, earning $600. Lucile also works on the dairy farm, has worked 50 hours in the past week and 52 weeks of the past year. As Emmett's wife, she earns no salary.

Obituary-Hot Springs Sentinel-Record -August 14, 2011 ROYAL Ralph McCaslin, age 83, of Royal, died Thursday, August 11, 2011 at home.

He was born on October 25, 1927 at Royal, the son of Emmitt Robert McCaslin and Lucille Maddox McCaslin. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ray McCaslin, John McCaslin and an infant brother.

He was a member of Forest Hills Church of God.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ruby Humphreys McCaslin of Royal; five sons and four daughters-in-law, Charlie and Ann McCaslin of Reseda, California, Jr. and Tani McCaslin of Bodfish, California, Sammy and Penny McCaslin of Tehachapi, California, Michael McCaslin of Royal, and Danny and June McCaslin of Everniss, Florida; two daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Dan Lawniczak of Royal and Cyndie and Steve Schnieder of Madison, Alabama; fourteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; three brothers and one sister-in-law, Stanley and Ima McCaslin of Royal, Shelby McCaslin of Clarksville, Tennessee, and Howard McCaslin of Lancaster, California; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Martha and Gail Ferrell and Sarah Hale all of Royal; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, August 16, 2011 in the Lowe Cemetery with Terry Robinson officiating, under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Monday evening.

Pallbearers will be Charlie McCaslin, Sammy McCaslin, Jr., Danny McCaslin, Sr., Mark Smith, and Danny McCaslin, Jr.

Honorary pallbearer will be Michael McCaslin.

The family will be at 512 Brady Mountain Road in Royal.
