In the 1900 US Federal Census for Kansas City, Wyandotte, Kansas, 33-year-old Ohio-born day laborer Charles W and his 27-year-old Pennsylvania-born wife Margartte [sic] [Scott] Edmonson [sic] have been married five years and have had two children, both are living. These Kansas-born children are 4-year-old Herlen [sic] and one-year-old Lois. Also in this household is Margaret's 36-year-old Pennsylvania-born single sister, Minnie Scott. The family is living in a rented house. All the adults can read, write and speak English. Charles' parents were born in Ohio; Margaret and Minnie's parents were born in Pennsylvania; the children's father was born in Ohio and their mother in Pennsylvania.

In the 1905 Kansas State Census for Kansas City, Wyandotte, Kansas, 36-year-old [sic] Charles and his 32-year-old wife Margaret [Scott] Edmondson [sic] have in their household Margaret's sister 41-year-old Minnie Scott, and their two children, 9-year-old Hellen [sic] and 6-year-old Lois. Helen has attended school in the past year.
