In the 1880 US Federal Census for Lees Creek, Crawford, Arkansas, 25-year-old farm laborer Arkansas-born James and his 18-year-old Arkansas-born wife Elizbeth [sic] [Spencer] Allen have in their family their Arkansas-born children, one-year-old Nancy and 2-month old Mary. James' parents were born in Tennessee; everyone else's parents were born in Arkansas.

In the 1910 US Federal Census for Cove City, Crawford, Arkansas, 47-year-old Arkansas-born windowed Minda [sic] [Spencer] Allen has born 12 children, eight are living. She is head of a household which contains her youngest Arkansas-born children, 14-year-old Toney, 10-year-old Marion, 8-year-old Lewis [sic Henry?], and 18-year-old Jerry. Minda is recorded as a "farm operator". Jerry is a teamster at a sawmill. Everyone can read write and speak English. Toney, Marion and Lewis have attended school in the past year.

In the 1920 US Federal Census for Upper, Crawford, Arkansas, 58-year-old Arkansas-born widow Minda Kimes has in her household two of her Arkansas-born sons 19-year-old Marion Allen Kimes [sic] and 18-year-old Henry Allen Kimes [sic]. Minda and Marion are listed as farmers and Henry as a farm laborer. Minda's father was born in Tennessee and her mother in United States. Marion and Henry's parents were born in Arkansas.

Arminda died 18 Nov 1924 in Crawford County, Arkansas, and was buried in Bryant Cemetery. Her tombstone reads Arminda Allen, Born 1862, Died 1924. There is no mention of Kimes.
