This is a first marriage for Benjamin, but a second for Rachel who has born three children, but only two are living, Benjamin and Rachel's daughters Jessie and Bessie. They and their husbands are living in this household. Thirty-three-year-old Michigan-born hotel proprietor Albert and his 28-year-old Nebraska-born wife Jessie [Hill] Zimmerman have been married one year and have had one child who died. This is a first marriage for both. Thirty-three-year-old Michigan-born railroad secretary Charles and his 32-year-old Nebraska-born wife Bessie [Hill] Roesle have been married eleven years and have had no children. This is a first marriage for this couple. The household is living in a house at 1117 North Sixth Street that Benjamin owns, free of mortgage. Everyone can read, write and speak English. Benjamin's father was born in Kentucky and his mother in Tennessee. Rachel Elzora's parents were born in Kentucky [sic]. Albert's parents were born in Pennsylvania. In the 1930 US Federal Census for St Joseph, Buchanan, Missouri, 73-year-old Wisconsin-born Albert Zimmerman Sr and his 48-year-old Nebraska-born wife Jessie [Hill] Zimmerman were married when he was 32- and she was 27-years old. They have in their household their son 18-year-old Missouri-born Albert. The family is living in a house worth $21,000 which Albert Sr owns. They have a radio. Albert Jr has attended school in the past year. No one is employed. All are literate and speak English. Albert's father was born in Missouri and his mother in Indiana [sic], Jessie's parents were born in Pennsylvania [sic]. Eighty-three-year, 11 month 26-day old Albert Zimmerman died at his residence, 312 North 17th, St Joseph, Buchanan, Missouri on 15 Apr 1939 at 1:15 pm. Death was caused by a coronary embolism following a hip fracture (he fell on his kitchen floor on 12 Apr 1939). Other contributory causes were Arteriosclarossis of 3 years duration. Dr Charles H Werner signed the death certificate. Albert was male, white, and married to Jessie B Zimmerman. His profession was Hotel Keeper and he'd worked 33 years at this occupation. The last day of working at this occupation was Apr 1919. He was born 17 Apr 1855 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Benjamin L Zimmerman and Hannah Uhlman, both of Pennsylvania. The informant was his wife, Mrs Albert Zimmerman, of 312 North 17th Street. He was buried in Mount Mora Cemetary on 18 Apr 1913. The funeral director was Heaton BeGole Bowman of 319 10th Street.
