These children are 3-year-old North Dakota-born Howard T [Howard Thomas] and 6-month old Minnesota-born "Baby" [Carlton Stewart]. The family is living in a rented house at 427 Prescott Street. Franklin is a plumber. Both Franklin and Kathleen can read, write and speak English. Franklin's parents were born in the United States, Kathleen's parents in Indiana, and the children's father in Minnesota, and their mother in Kansas.
