A graveside service was held today, Tuesday, July 19, at Olney Cemetery in Pendleton. Mrs. Anderson will be buried in the Oliver family plot. She was born March 27, 1911, at Pendleton, to Roland and Alice VanNuys Oliver. She was raised in Pendleton, though the family lived in Danvers, Mont., for a year. She attended Willamette University and the University of Oregon. On Dec. 25, 1939, she married E. William "Bill" Anderson. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Pendleton from 1949-1963 when she moved to Lake Oswego. She joined the Lake Grove Presbyterian Church in the Portland area. Mrs. Anderson was a homemaker, active in Lincoln School PTA, church activities, garden club, Allons Dance Club, and PEO. She enjoyed cooking and knitting and she and her husband enjoyed many international trips, as well as trips around Oregon. Survivors include her husband, Bill, of Lake Oswego, daughters, Christine Ferris of Salem and Elizabeth Vandehey of Portland.
