Serilda can neither read nor write. In the 1860 US Federal Census for Cedar Creek, Crawford, Arkansas, 50-year-old Kentucky-born farmer Presley M Craddick [sic] owns $600 worth of real estate and $550 worth of personal property. He and his 41-year-old Kentucky-born wife Seralda [sic] [Lamb] Cradduck have in their household their Arkansas-born chilren, 18-year-old farm laborer Elbert T, 15-year-old farm laborer Wm [sic] T, 13-year-old Henry C, 10-year-old Sarah E, 8-year-old John W, 6-year-old James P, 4-year-old Nathen [sic] B, and one-year-old Delta P. Elbert, William, Henry, Sarah, John W and james P have attended school in the past year. Serilda is illiterate.
