In the 1850 US Federal Census for Jasper, Crawford, Arkansas, 60-year-old Kentucky-born farmer Henry and his 40-year-old Kentucky-born wife Jane A [Hobaugh] Lewis have in their household their children, 12-year-old Sarah, 10-year-old Elijah, 9-year-old Manerva, 8-year-old Margaret, 6-year-old Retty, and 4-month old Lucinda. All the children were born in Missouri, except the youngest, Lucinda, who was born in Arkansas. This would indicate that the Lewis family moved to Arkansas from Missouri after 1844 but before Aug 1850. Also in this household is 35-year-old Missouri-born laborer Philip Hobaugh, who is Jane's brother. Sarah, Elijah and Missouri have attended school in the past year. Jane is illiterate. He and his 24-year-old Missouri-born wife Sarah [Lewis] McCaslin and their 3-year-old Arkansas-born son Newton S are living with Sarah's mother 44-year-old Kentucky-born Ann J [sic] [ Jane Ann Hobaugh] Lewis and Sarah's siblings, 19-year-old Missouri-born Manverva, 13-year-old Missouri-born Retta A [Ruby Ann Henrietta], 10-year-old Arkansas-born Malinda Lee [relationship unknown], 6-year-old Arkansas-born James W Lee [relationship unknown] and Jane's brother, 46-year-old Kentucky-born [sic] wheelwright Phillip E Hobaugh who owns $100 worth of personal property. Ann Lewis has no occupation, but she own $500 worth of real estate and $433 of personal property. In the 1880 US Federal Census for Cedar Creek, Crawford, Arkansas, 64-year-old Kentucky-born Jane A Louis [sic] [Hobaugh Lewis] is keeping house for a household that consists of two of her Arkasas-born children, 30-year-old Malinda and 27-year-old James H and her 66-year-old Kentucky-born brother P C [Philip] Hobaugh. Philip has "lost a leg". Jane and Philip's father was born in Pennsylvania and their mother in North Carolina. Malina and James' parents were born in Kentucky. Living on the next two farms are Jane's daughters Henretta [sic] [Lewis] McCaslin and Manerva [Lewis] Temple and their families. The next household contains 34-year-old Arkansas-born farm laborer A. J. [Andrew Jackson] and his 33-year-old Missouri-born wife Henrietta [Lewis] McCaslin have in their household their Arkansas-born children, 11-year-old David, 9-year-old Sarah, 7-year-old Manerva, 5-year-old Malissa and one-year-old Tennessee. David, Sarah and Manerva have attended school in the past year. Andrew's parents were born in Indiana [sic]; Henrietta's father was born in Pennsylvania and her mother in Kentucky; the children's father was born in Arkansas and their mother in Missouri. Beyond the McCaslins are 50-year-old Tennessee-born farmer F M [Francis M] and his Missouri-born 39-year-old wife Manerva [Lewis] Temple Francis' Arkansas-born children by his first wife Mary Rozell, 24-year-old James F, 22-year-old William A, and their Arkansas-born children, 18-year-old Mary, 13-year-old Francis. 9-year-old Charles N, 7-year-old Sarah, 5-year-old Narcissa, and one-year-old Thomas I [This is Iva Thomas, incorrectly recorded as a male]. Francis, Charles and Sarah have attended school in the past year. Francis's father was born in Georgia and his mother in Virginia; Manerva's father was born in Kentucky and her mother in Missouri; the children's father was born in Tennessee and their mother in Missouri. In the 1900 US Federal Census for Oliver Springs, Crawford, Arkansas, 69-year-old Tennessee-born farmer Francis M and his 59-year-old Missouri-born wife Minerva [Lewis] Temple have been married fifty-seven years. Minerva has born seven children, but only six are living. The Arkansas-born children living with them are 28-year-old farmer Charles H, 21-year-old Iva and 18-year-old Edna. Francis is farming land he owns, free of mortgage. Everyone can read, write and speak English. Edna has attended school four months of the past year. Francis' father's birth place is "unknown" and his mother's is Virginia; Minerva's father was born in Kentucky and her mother in Missouri; the children's father was born in Tennessee and their mother in Missouri. Francis' farmstead is recorded as 104, near his son William's farmstead, which is recorded as 107. In the 1910 US Federal Census for Oliver Springs, Crawford, Arkansas, 40-year-old Arkansas-born Charles H and his 26-year-old Arkansas-born wife Lytha [McCaslin] Temple have been married five years and have had one child, 3-year-old Arkansas-born Fern. Also in this household is Charles' widowed mother, 69-year-old Missouri-born Minerva [Lewis] Temple, who has borne seven children, six are living. Charles is doing "general farming" on rented land. Charles' and Minerva's fathers were born in Tennessee and their mothers in Missouri; Lytha's and Fern's parents were born in Arkansas. Living next door to the Temples is Lytha's sister Sarah [recorded as Eva] [McCaslin] Davis, her husband James Davis and their two children. In the 1920 US Federal Census for Oliver Springs, Crawford, Arkansas, 47-year-old Arkansas-born Charles H and his 35-year-old Arkansas-born wife Lytha [McCaslin] Temple have in their household their 12-year-old Arkansas-born daughter Fern and Charles' widowed mother, 78-year-old Missouri-born Minerva [Lewis] Temple. Fern has attended school in the past year. Everyone can read, write and speak English. Charles is doing general farming on land he owns. Charles' father was born in Tennessee and his mother in Missouri; Lytha's and Fern's parents were born in Arkansas; Minvera's father was born in Kentucky and her mother in Missouri. Minerva Lewis Temple died on 14 Dec 1928 and was buried in Morrison Cemetery, Rudy, Crawford, Arkansas.
