The birth place of David and Rachell is recorded as unknown. Rachell is illiterate. James and John have attended school in the past year. In the 1860 US Federal Census for Cedar Creek, Crawford, Arkansas, 52-year Kentucky-born farm laborer David McCaslin owns $360 worth of personal property and $350 worth of real estate. He and his 59-year-old Kentucky-born [sic] wife Rachel [Largent] McCaslin have in their household their Arkansas-born children, 22-year-old Winney [sic], 17-year-old [sic] Amanda, 14-year-old twins, Geo [sic] W and Andrew J, and 12-year-old William. Amanda, George, Andrew and William have attended school in the past year. On 25 Jun 1863, George K Porter, M.G. married Charles M Lane and Amanda McCaslin, borh of Barry County, Missouri. Amanda Lane died in Grant, Stone, Missouri on 16 Dec 1920 at 10:30 pm. She was the widow of Charles Marion Lane [Marion Charles is crossed out] and was born on 3 Feb 1841 in Arkansas, being 79-years, 10-months and 13-days old when she died She was a housewife. Her father was David McCaslin, born in Indiana, her mother is recorded as McCaslin with an unknown birthplace. The informant was her son-in-law W. M. Hawley of Marionville, Missouri [husband of Cora Nettie Lane]. The medical certificate was filed by JCR Arggett of Crane, Missouri, who stated that he attended the deceased from 11 Dec 1920 to 16 Dec 1920 and that the cause of death was senility. The undertaker was W E Hilton of Crane and date of burial is given as 18 Dec 1920 on the initial page of the death certificate, but 17 Dec 1920 on the supplimentary page necessary to record Amanda's birth date.
