In the 1870 US Federal Census for Cedar Creek, Crawford, Arkansas, 33-year-old Tennessee-born farmer W M [sic William H] Temple owns $300 worth of real estate and $400 worth of personal property. He and his 32-year-old Arkansas-born wife Winny [Nancy] [McCaslin] Temple have in their household their Arkansas-born children, 2-year-old F M [Francis Marion] and 1-year-old B F [Benjamin Franklin]. William is a male citizen of the USA who is 21 years or older. In the 1880 US Federal Census for Cedar Creek, Crawford, Arkansas, 41-year-old [sic] Tennessee-born farmer William and his 41-year-old [sic] Arkansas-born wife Winnie [Nancy McCaslin] Temple have in their household their Arkansas-born children, 12-year-old Francis and 10-year-old Benjamin, and William's 75-year-old [sic] Virginia-born widowed mother, Mary [Lee] Temple. Francis and Benjamin have attended school in the past year, but cannot read or write. William's father was born in Georgia and his mother in Virginia, Winnie's parents were born in Indiana [sic] Mary's parents were born in Virginia and the children's father in Tennessee and their mother in Arkansas. In the 1900 US Federal Census for Oliver Springs, Crawford, Arkansas, 61-year-old Tennessee-born William and his 61-year-old Arkansas-born wife Winnie [McCaslin] Temple have been married 33-years. Winnie has born four children but only one, Francis Marion Temple, is living. William is farming land he owns free of mortgage. Both William and Winnie can read, write and speak English. William's father was born in Georgia and his mother in Virginia; Winnie's parents were born in Indiana. In the 1910 US Federal Census for Oliver Springs, Crawford, Arkansas, 71-year-old Tennessee-born William and his 71-year-old Arkansas-born wife Winnie [McCaslin] Temple have been married 43-years. This is a second marriage for William, but a first for Winnie. Although William owns a farm, free of mortgage, he has retired and is living on his own income. Both William and Winnie can read, write and speak English. William's father was born in Georgia and his mother in Virginia; Winnie's parents were born in Indiana.
