In the 1910 US Federal Census for Chicago, Cook, Illinois, 45-year-old Illinois-born [sic] Mary A [Barta] Skol was married once, and the marriage lasted for 25 years. However, her husband is not in this household [he is living as a border in Chatsworth, Livingston, Illinois], which only contains Mary's five [sic] Illinois-born children, 22-year-old Harry A, 20-year-old Otto M, 17-year-old James A, 15-year-old William J 12-year-old Agnes M, 9-year-old Gertrude L and 7-year-old Carl T. William, Agnes, Gertrude and Carl have attended school in the past year. Mary has no occupation but owns the home at 5929 (rear) Sangomon Street, in which they are living. Harry is a clerk in a railroad office, Otto is a shipping clerk in a retail dry goods store, and William is an office boy in a jewelery store. None of them has had a month or more out of work in the past year. Everyone can read, write and speak English. Mary's parents were born in Germany [sic]. The children's parents were born in Illinois.[sic]
