In the 1900 US Federal Census for Monroe, Jefferson, Indiana, 57-year-old Indiana-born farmer John and his 53-year-old Indiana-born wife Victoria [King] Denney [sic] have been married 34 years and have had 5 children [sic I have found 6 from the 1880 and 1900 census], all five are living. The three Indiana-born children who are living with them are 17-year-old Frank M and the 13-year-old twins, Fred A and Virnie [sic] R. These children have attended school 6 months of the past year. The family is living on a farm that John owns, free of mortgage. Everyone can read, write and speak English. John's parents were born in Kentucky, Victoria's parents in Germany and the children's parents in Indiana.
