In the 1900 US Federal Census for Nineveh, Johnson, Indiana, 48-year-old farmer George A and his 44-year-old wife Luna M [List] McCaslinhave been married 21 years and have had two children. Both children, 14-year-old Mary M and 12-year-old Cecil A, are living with them. Mary and Cecil have attended school in the past year. George owns his mortgaged farm and didn't work three months of the past year. In the 1910 US Federal Census for Nineveh, Johnson, Indiana, 58-year-old farmer George and his 56-year-old wife Luna M [List] McCaslin have been married 31 years and have had two children. The census records that neither are living, but that is an error as both of them, 25-year-old Mary M and 22-year-old farmer and partner Cecil A are living with their parents. In the 1930 US Federal Census for Nineveh, Johnson, Indiana, 42-year-old farmer C A [Cecil Alexander] McCaslin, his 39-year-old wife Florence B McCaslin and 14-year-old son Max B are living on the farm he owns. The family has a radio. Max McCaslin and Marjorie [Henley] McCaslin are listed for a second time in the 1940 US Federal Census. In the 1940 US Federal Census for Nineveh, Johnson, Indiana, 52-year old Indiana-born Cecil A McCaslin and his 49-year-old Indiana-born wife Florence [Bridges] McCaslin have in their household their 24-year-old Indiana-born son, Max B McCaslin and his 20-year-old wife Marjorie [Henley] McCaslin. This family is living on Trafalgar Rural Road on a farm in a house that Cecil owns, worth $4,000. Cecil has completed one year of College, Max has completed four years of college, and Florence and Marjorie have completed four years of high school. Cecil, Florence and Max were living in the same house in 1935, but Marjorie was living in rural Henry County, Indiana. McCaslin, 93, a retired farmer and supervisor at the Kenneth N. Rider Packing Co., for 30 years, died Saturday at the Franklin Healthcare Centre where he had been a resident for three weeks. He had been in failing health for two years. He was born Nov. 13, 1887 in Hopewell to George and Luna (List) McCaslin. He was married to Florence Bridges Dec. 11, 1911 and she survives. A life long resident, Mr. McCaslin was a graduate of Trafalgar High School and a member of the Trafalgar Christian Church and Traflagar Masonic Lodge 413. He was past worthy patron of Traflagar Order of Eastern Star 423. The Rev. Roy Gray will conduct a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Vandivier-Tudor Funeral Home in Franklin where friends may call after 2 p.m. Monday. Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Trafalgar Christian Church. Other survivors include a son, Max McCaslin of Princes Lakes, Nineveh, and four step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mary Hamilton. Second Obit Cecil A. McCaslin Trafalgar, Ind - Cecil A. McCaslin, 93 Trafalgar, a retired farmer, died Saturday [7 Mar 1981]in a local nursing home. He also had been a superintendent with the Kenneth N. Rider Packing Co. for 30 years before retiring. A lifelong Johnson County resident, he was a member of Trafalgar Christian Church, Trafalgar Masonic Lodge 413 and was a past Worth Patron of the Order of Eastern Star 423. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Vandivier-Tudor Funeral Home at Franklin, where friends may call after 2 p.m. Monday. Survivors include his wife, Florence Bridges McCaslin, and a son, Max McCaslin. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
