Shared note
In the 1860 US Federal Census for Jennings, Scott, Indiana, 36-year-old George W Field is a farmer with no value for real estate recorded but $350 in personal property. He and his 33-year-old wife, Margaret J McCaslin Field, have in their household their children, 14-year-old William W, 11-year-old Alexander [Richard A on the 1850 census], 8-year-old twins Norsena [sic] and Lavina, 6-year-old Amanda, 5-year-old Alonzo and 3-year-old Eldridge. One child on the previous US Federal Census, 2-year-old Eliza Jane, is missing from this census and may be presumed to have died. The Field farmstead is adjacent to that of 26-year-old Greenberg Field (one of George's brothers?) and four farmsteads away from that of Gara Davis and Esther Parker McCaslin Davis, Margaret's aunt.
