He passed away at home, October 9, 1999. he [sic] was a grad- uate of Oakland High School, attended San Fran- cisco City College, and served his country in Ger- many in World War II. Norm worked for Pacific Gas and Electric Company for 30 years. He was an avid member of the Acorn A's Model A Ford Club. He also belonged to the Fremont Elks Lodge and SIRS. He is survived by his wife Edie; son Jim and wife Cathy; daughter Candy Smith and husband Mike; and grandchildren Angie, Nikki, Jeremy, Melanie, Jack and Elizabeth. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 14, 1999 at 11:00 a.m. at Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Home, 4499 Piedmont Ave., Oakland. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Pathways Hospice or The Amer- ican Cancer Society.
