Shared note
Charles and Francis [Bridell] Brown had a son, James Harding Brown, who was born 18 May 1897 in Stanley, Chippewa, Wisconsin, died 18 Sep 1897 in Eau Claire, Eau Claire, Wisconsin and was buried In Forest Hill Cemetery in Eau Claire. His parents' names, given on his death certificate were Charles Lee Brown (born in Porterville, Wisconsin) and Francis Bridell (born in Minneapolis, Minnesota [sic she was born in Nevada, Livingston, Illinois]). In the 1910 United State Federal Census for Stanley, Chippewa, Wisconsin Frances [Bridell] Brown has borne two children but only one is living. Frances is not telling the truth about her age in the 1920 US Federal Census for Stanley, Chippewa, Wisconsin, she says she is 40 but she is 45. In the 1930 US Federal Census for Eau Claire, Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Charles and Frances [Bridell] Brown are living in a rented multiple dwelling at 1404 Beria. They pay $19 a month for rent and have no radio. Charles who says he's 59 is now an elevator operator in a tire factory. Frances says she is 49. They state that Charles was 29 and Frances 19 when they married in 1895. It that statement is correct, a little arithmetic shows that Charles should 64 and Frances should be 54. Until I find birth or death certificates, there is no way to know the truth. Frances Brown died in 1940 and was buried in Forest Hill Cemetery, Block 41 Lot 3, Eau Claire, Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
