In the 1930 US Federal Census for St Joseph, Buchanan, Missouri, 52-year-old Michigan-born widower Charles H Roesle has in his household his parents, 85-year-old Swiss-born Charles E and 78-year-old Prussian-born Margarett [sic] [Kort] Roesle, his 34-year-old Missouri-born sister Cecilia M Roesle, his 37-year-old Missouri-born widowed sister Anna M Igol, and her Missouri-born children, 13-year-old Anna M, 12-year-old W Thomas and 10-year-old Margaret A Igol. This household is living at 923 Main Street in a rented house for which Charles pays $32 a month. They do not own a radio. Anna M Jr, W Thomas, and Margaret A have all attended school in the past year. Everyone can read, write and speak English. Charles Edward Roesle, aged 86 years, 5 months, 27 days, died at 2:50 am on 14 Feb 1931 in St Joseph's Hospital of uremia and pulmonary edema, secondary cause was an obstructin adenoma of the prostate. Cause of death was reported by Dr Clarence A Good. Charles was male, white, married to Margaret Roesle, and born 21 Aug 1844 in St Gallen, Switzerland. He was a retired, self-employed house painter. His parents were John D Roesle of Gigen, Wurtemberg, Germany and Mary Etta Engler of St Gallen, Switzerland. The informant was his son, Chas H Roesle of 923 Main Street. Date of burial was 20 Feb 1931 in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
