The ceremony was performed by Harold C Warren, clergyman, and witnessed by Mrs.George Esper and Mrs. J. Miller, both of Detroit. Donald is a iceman, but Rhoda has none as her occupation. Donald's parents are John and Josephine Blackketter Robinson. Rhoda's parents are Joeph and Ida Trembath Iliff. Donald has previously been married, but Rhoda has not. In the 1930 US Federal Census for Gary, Lake, Indiana, 28-year-old Indiana-born George D Robinson and his 22-year-old Michigan-born wife Rhoda J [Iliff] Robinson were married when he was 23- and she was 16-years-old [abt 1924]. They have in their household their Indiana-born children, 5-year-old George D, 4-year-old Betty M, 2-year-old Patrice L and one-year-old Geraldine E, and a roomer 59-year-old Pennsylvania-born widower James C Higgens. The household is living in a rented duplex on 569 Harrison Street, for which George pays $55 a month in rent. They have a radio. George is a "leaverman" [?] for a steel mill, James is "blue printer" for a steel mill. Both have worked on the last regularly scheduled work day and have not served in the military. All the adults are literate and speak English. George's parents were born in Indiana; Rhoda's parents were born in Michigan; the children's father was born in Indiana and their mother in Michigan; James' parents were born in Canada.
