In the 1910 US Federal Census for Logansport, Eel Township, Cass, Indiana, 38-year-old Ohio-born John F Robinson and his 34-year-old Indiana-born wife Josie [Blackketter] Robinson have been married eleven years. Josie has borne three children and all are living. These Indiana-born children are 10-year-old Goldie B, 8-year-old George D and 2-year-old Velma B. The family is living in a rented house at 99 Bates Street. John is a fireman in a light plant and has had no months without work in the past year. John, Josie and Goldie are literate and speak English. Goldie and George have attended school in the past year. John's parents were born in Ohio [sic]; Josie's parents were born in Indiana [sic]; the children's father was born in Ohio and their mother in Indiana. His parents are recorded as John Robinson and Josephine Blocketta [sic Blackketter]. Her parents are recorded as William Smith and Dacry [sic Lacy] Gilkerson. On 25 Sep 1923, 23-year-old, Indiana-born Donald G Robinson, of Brightmoor, Michigan, married 18-year-old [sic], Michigan-born Rohda [sic] Iliff, of Detroit, Michigan, in Detroit, Wayne, Michigan. The ceremony was performed by L. Eugene Sharp, Justice of the Peace and witnessed by George Esper of Detroit, and Emma McCollum of Brightmoor. Donald is a chauffeur, but Rhoda has none as her occupation. Neither have been previously married. Donald's parents are John and Josie Blacketter [sic] Robinson. Rhoda's parents are Joseph and Ida Trembath Iliff. Unfortunately, Donald was still married to his first wife Florence Smith. Florence Smith Robinson's divorce from Donald Robinson was finalized on 6 Mar 1924. On 15 Mar 1924, 23-year-old, Indiana-born Don Robinson, of Detroit, Michigan, married 16-year-old, Michigan-born Rhoda Iliff, of Detroit, Michigan, in Detroit, Wayne, Michigan. The ceremony was performed by Harold C Warren, clergyman, and witnessed by Mrs.George Esper and Mrs. J. Miller, both of Detroit. Donald is a iceman, but Rhoda has none as her occupation. Donald's parents are John and Josephine Blackketter Robinson. Rhoda's parents are Joeph and Ida Trembath Iliff. Donald has previously been married, but Rhoda has not. In the 1930 US Federal Census for Gary, Lake, Indiana, 28-year-old Indiana-born George D Robinson and his 22-year-old Michigan-born wife Rhoda J [Iliff] Robinson were married when he was 23- and she was 16-years-old [abt 1924]. They have in their household their Indiana-born children, 5-year-old George D, 4-year-old Betty M, 2-year-old Patrice L and one-year-old Geraldine E, and a roomer 59-year-old Pennsylvania-born widower James C Higgens. The household is living in a rented duplex on 569 Harrison Street, for which George pays $55 a month in rent. They have a radio. George is a "leaverman" [?] for a steel mill, James is "blue printer" for a steel mill. Both have worked on the last regularly scheduled work day and have not served in the military. All the adults are literate and speak English. George's parents were born in Indiana; Rhoda's parents were born in Michigan; the children's father was born in Indiana and their mother in Michigan; James' parents were born in Canada. Donald G Robinson born 20 Aug 1901, died May 1970 and was buried in Ever-Rest Memorial Park (Find A Grave Memorial# 36209209). His last address of record is Logansport, Cass, Indiana 46947. ROBINSON LOGANSPORT---Services for Donald G. Robinson, 68, former Valparaiso resident who died Friday, were held here Monday. He was a retired Penn Central Railroad conductor. Among the survivors is a stepson, William Rouch of Valparaiso.
