They have in their household their Arkansas-born children, 12-year-old Jennie L [Louise on the 1920 census], 11-year-old Bertie S, 8-year-old Rex R and 6-month-old Billie E. The family is living on a farm that Roland owns, free of mortgage. Roland, Ella, Jennie and Bertie are literate and speak English. Jennie, Bertie and Rex have attended school in the past year. Roland has worked on the last regularly scheduled work day. He has not served in the military Roland’s father was born in Tennessee [sic] and his mother in Arkansas [sic]; Ella’s father was born in Missouri and her mother in Arkansas; the children’s parents were born in Arkansas.
