In the 1910 US Federal Census for Franklin, Johnson, Indiana, 37-year-old Indiana-born farmer Elmer [sic] and his 34-year-old Indiana-born wife Carrie [Park] Vandivier have been married eleven years and have had five children: their Indiana-born children are 15-year-old Ruth, 13-year-old Margaret, 9-year-old Helen, 7-year-old Bonnie and one-year 6-month-old Grace. Also in their household, is Carrie's 60-year-old Indiana-born widower father Rufus L Park. Elmore and his family are living next door to his mother Sarah [Byers] Vandivier. Elmore, Carrie, Ruth, Margaret and Rufus are literate and speak English. Ruth, Margaret, Helen and Bonnie have attended school in the past year. Elmore owns his farm free of mortgage. He is doing "General Farming". Rufus is a farm laborer "working out". Everyone's parents were born in Indiana except for Rufus. His were born in Kentucky.
