Obituaries: Ruldoso News , Alamogordo, Otero County, New Mexico , 6 December 2005 Leon Max Lane Former Alamogordo resident Max Lane passed away on Nov. 24, 2005, in Torrance, Calif. He was born in Alamogordo on April 1927. He graduated from Alamogordo High School and from the New Mexico College of Agriculture and Mechanical Arts in Las Cruces, and received a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering. During World War II, he served in the Navy at Great Lakes, Illinois, and Corpus Christi, Texas. Max was preceded in death by his parents, Uel Marion Lane and Ruby Dale Lane, of Alamogordo; sister Marjorie Lane Hite Regal, of Tacoma, Wash., and granddaughter Sara Beth Tranbarger. He is survived by his wife Ruth; and his children Janet Tranbarger and husband Gary, of Riverside, Calif.; Alan Lane, of Torrance; Linda Lane, of Lakewood, Calif.; Nancy Lane, of Bremerton, Wash.; and three grandchildren, Katherine, Jennifer, and Bryan Tranbarger. Max retired in 1991 after 30 years with Aerospace Corporation in El Segundo, Calif. A memorial service is planned for a later date.
